COPDEND launches consultation on assessment of dental foundation training
The UK Committee of Postgraduate Dental Deans and Directors (COPDEND) has today (5 February) launched a one-month consultation on proposals for a new assessment framework for the dental foundation training programme.
The framework, which is based on similar frameworks used in dental and medical speciality training programmes, will be used to assess foundation dentists throughout their training year before being awarded a certificate upon satisfactory completion. It is designed to accompany the revised curriculum for Foundation Training which is launching this year.
COPDEND is now seeking views on its proposals, which are currently being piloted. More information and a link to the consultation documents is available from the COPDEND website. Members are encouraged to respond individually and the BDA will also be submitting a response on behalf of its members.
