​The ball for newly qualified dentists will be held at the iconic Principal Hotel (formerly the Palace Hotel). Join your peers for a glass of bubbly before heading to the Grand Room for a three course dinner and entertainment.​

Frequently asked questions​

Q) How many guests can a table accommodate?

A) Maximum 10. If you have more than 10 guests attending, please indicate on the form and we will do our best to sit you together if at all possible, or on tables next to each other.

Q) We are booking as a group of friends rather than as a scheme, is that ok?

A) Absolutely! Please feel free to sit with who you would like. We just need a 'scheme' name for your booking, so it's often best to use the scheme of the main booking contact.

Q) Who can attend the ball?

The event is for recently qualified dentists i.e. those who graduated in 2016.

Q) I don't have a GDC number but qualified in 2016, can I still attend?

A) Yes, no problem, we just need your name and address to process your booking.

Q) Can I bring a partner/guest to the ball who isn't a dentist or has already qualified?

A) Yes, we just need the name and address of your guest to process your booking.

Q) When will I receive my tickets?

A) The tickets will be posted to individuals or the main contact for the booking 2 weeks before the event. Please remember it is vital to bring it with you on the night!

Q) Where will my ticket be posted to?

A) The address you gave when you initially booked. Please ensure this is an address you have access to, not a parents address or old student address.

Q) I have a dietary requirement, will this be catered for?

A) Please add your dietary requirement to the booking form or let us know at the time of booking.  We will inform the venue to ensure you will be catered for. Please note we must be advised of all dietary requirements before the event; we cannot guarantee that these can be catered for on the night. 

Q) What is on the menu?


Heirloom tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, mixed seeds, olive powder, pea shoots and balsamic smoked Maldon (v)

Main course

Roasted artichoke tart, dauphinoise potato, and seasonal greens (v)

Cheshire roasted chicken supreme, dauphinoise potato, seasonal greens, fricassee of mushrooms and braised shallots creamy red wine jus


Filled choux pastry, praline cream, light chocolate sauce and honeycomb
