The Essex Branch covers the areas of Basildon, Braintree, Brentwood, Colchester, Chelmsford, Epping, Ilford, Romford, Southend on Sea and Tilbury. Most CPD activity is directly organised by the Branch.
The Essex Branch supports the local community of dentists by holding regular educational and social events. Members, non-member dentists and DCPs from other areas are welcome to meetings. Members are contacted by email regarding meetings, if you are not receiving meeting details, please contact the Local Services Team. You are also welcome to join the Essex Branch Facebook group.

Nick Barker
Nick qualified BDS from the Royal London Hospital in 1990. He is employed as the Chair of Local Dental Network (LDN) by NHS England and NHS Improvement - East of England and as Professor of Oral Health Sciences at the University of Essex.
Branch Chair
Bryan Harvey
Bryan is a Senior Dento-Legal Adviser at the DDU. He has been qualified for 53 years. Before 1 January 2016 he was Deputy Head of the DDU and has been a dento-legal adviser for 28 years. Prior to this he was in general practice for 25 years, was a vocational trainer and an associate specialist in oral surgery. Currently he is chairman of Essex LDC, and the LDN and MCN oral surgery and restorative dentistry. He keeps wet gloved working alternate Saturday mornings in practice. Bryan regularly lectures on dento-legal and ethical issues. He has been involved with the development of Covid-19 standard operating procedures and has sat on many meetings with NHS England.

Mansoor is Past President of the BDA's Essex Branch, formerly Postgraduate Dental Tutor at Basildon and has been in general practice since 1987.
