Learning objectives
- Assess a deteriorating patient, providing a safe approach and evaluate a collapsed victim
- Master correct techniques for chest compression and rescue breathing
- Understand how to activate an AED and attach electrodes correctly
- Assess cardiac rhythm by the AED and techniques for performing safe defibrillation
- Undertake medical emergency training including anaphylaxis and dealing with a choking adult.

John Saberton
Resuscitation Officer, Resuscitation Council Instructor
John's background is working in the Emergency department as a charge nurse. He has over 15 years experience as a Resuscitation Officer teaching in the hospital and community. He teaches everything from basic to advanced life support for both adult and paediatrics.
