Join John and Lucy Saberton, for a hands-on, practical session designed specifically for dental professionals. This isn’t just theory - it's real-world training that could save a life. This is a dynamic session with plenty of opportunity for Q&A, real-life scenarios, and practical insights for all levels who want to feel confident, competent, and prepared in the face of medical emergencies.

Learning objectives

  • Assess a deteriorating patient, providing a safe approach and evaluate a collapsed victim
  • Master correct techniques for chest compression and rescue breathing
  • Understand how to activate an AED and attach electrodes correctly
  • Assess cardiac rhythm by the AED and techniques for performing safe defibrillation
  • Undertake medical emergency training including anaphylaxis and dealing with a choking adult.

Meet the speaker

John Saberton

Resuscitation Officer, Resuscitation Council Instructor

John's background is working in the Emergency department as a charge nurse. He has over 15 years experience as a Resuscitation Officer teaching in the hospital and community. He teaches everything from basic to advanced life support for both adult and paediatrics.

Directions from Kenton Station

Turn right out of the station, cross the bridge and continue along Kenton Road.
Take the third turning on the right into Upton Gardens.
At the end turn left onto Northwick Circle.

NB: If coming by road, approach via Kenton Road, turning into Upton Gardens, Kenton. Members and Visitors are requested to use the Car Park and not obstruct the entrances and exits.

 

Directions from Northwick Park Station

Coming out of the station, go straight on towards Northwick Avenue and there turn right.
At the end of Northwick Avenue continue straight along the footpath across the railway bridge and then take the second left turning onto Greystone Gardens.
At the end turn slightly left onto Northwick Circle.
