Tony Ahmed
Tony pursued a special interest in orthodontics, including cosmetic braces, Invisalign, and lingual braces after qualifying from the University of Birmingham in 1993.
Practising across Staffordshire and the West Midlands, he has substantial experience of working across all sectors and specialities. Tony has chaired the LDN (Local Dental Network) for Shropshire and Staffordshire for 12 years and also has 23 years of teaching under his belt. He was recently appointed as a member of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Integrated Care Board.
Dipesh Parmar
Dipesh has a global reputation and is considered to be one of the best dentists in UK for Composite Bonding and Cosmetic Dentistry. He lectures internationally, runs the UK’s most successful composite bonding course for dentists and is also a Full Member of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.
Amit Patel
Amit is registered with the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Periodontics. Alongside his private practice, he also works as Associate Specialist in Periodontics and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham Dental School. His special interests are dental implants, regenerative and aesthetic periodontics.
Amit graduated in Dentistry from the University of Liverpool in 1997. Following a training post in Restorative Dentistry at the Liverpool Dental School he gained significant experience in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery through 3 prestigious hospital posts. He obtained his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2000.
Manrina Rhode
Manrina graduated from Guy’s Hospital in London in 2002 and has since become known as one of the world’s top cosmetic dentists. She continued her education at prestigious institutions worldwide, achieving a Master’s level in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry at the New York Dental Institute and mastering Advanced Occlusion Techniques in Florida.
Manrina first learned facial aesthetics in 2004 and continually upgrades her skills as technology advances. As the founder and CEO of DRMR, she received the prestigious ‘Dentist of the Year 2022’ award. Her clinic, located in the heart of Knightsbridge, London, exemplifies her commitment to providing the highest standard of dental care. DRMR Clinic also won Best New Practice at the Private Dentistry Awards 2023.
11:00 Right patient, right time: Orthodontic referrals for the GDP
Aim
To support participants to better diagnose, assess and treat malocclusions and refer those that require specialised advice and/or management.
Learning objectives
Examine a patient and recognise a need for future orthodontics
Identify patients that need referral
Be able relieve trauma and discomfort related to orthodontic appliances and arrange emergency repairs when required.

Aim
Diagnose and manage periodontal and peri‑implant diseases, recognising when to refer, and treating peri‑implant mucositis with simple hygiene measures. This session also reviews screw‑vs cement‑retained restorations and new technologies that support long‑term implant maintenance.

Demonstrate how to diagnose peri implant diseases and the management
Understand how to treat peri implant mucositis with simple techniques
Examine how to treat mild peri implantitis
Knowing when to refer.

Aim
To provide dental professionals with an understanding of how artificial intelligence can be used to support the creation of ethical, engaging, and effective social media content that enhances patient communication and professional branding.

Identify ways it generates ideas, captions, scripts, and educational posts
Develop effective prompts for dental content
Recognise risks, limits, and ethics in healthcare communication
