  • Understand patterns of bone and soft tissue remodelling following extraction 
  • Individualise treatment approaches to simplify surgery and optimise aesthetics 
  • Demonstrate ideal 3D implant positioning within extraction sockets 
  • Discuss indications, biomaterials, and rationale for socket grafting 
  • Review soft tissue grafting techniques and their indications 
  • Explain principles, indications, and contraindications of socket shield/partial extraction therapy and how to simplify the technique safely 
  • Highlight the role of temporisation in maintaining volume and guiding soft tissue healing.

Meet the speaker

Daniel Benson DMD, MOM, MSc implantology and Dental Surgery

Daniel received his undergraduate dental degree from Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary in 2006. After graduation he completed a three-year full-time residency in operative dentistry and prosthodontics. Daniel’s thirst for knowledge led him to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Implantology and Dental Surgery at the International Medical College, University of Muenster in Germany. He is a registered dentist in the UK, Ireland and Hungary. 

As a private practice associate and visiting dental implant surgeon his practice is limited to surgical and restorative implant treatments, cosmetic surgical and aesthetic restorative procedures. 

Daniel first moved to Edinburgh in 2009. Since 2012 he is only practicing in private practices. His eye for details and passion for excellence in dentistry is well known amongst his colleagues, and he regularly treat patients needing advanced rehabilitation on referral basis. He brings a strong sense of purpose and responsibility including a voice as a mentor through leading example. He is a recognised speaker on the topics of dental implantology, bone and soft tissue management and dental photography.

Transport

By Road

From the West, follow signs into the City Centre, eventually turning right onto Queen Street, taking the third left into Queen Street Gardens East and right into Abercromby Place.

From the East turn onto York Place, which continues into Queen Street. Turn second right into Queen Street Gardens West. Turn right onto Heriot Row, which changes into Abercromby Place after the traffic lights.

By Rail

Exit Waverley Station onto Princes Street and turn left. Turn right onto South St Andrew Street and head straight passed St Andrews Square onto Dublin Street, turning left onto Abercromby Place.

Reception is located at 29 Abercromby Place.
