What to expect
- Optimal performance. To help dental professionals understand the link between leadership and wellbeing that prevents burnout and learn practical strategies to enhance performance and resilience
- Orthodontic Referrals for the GDP and IOTN. Understand common orthodontic problems related to the development of occlusion in children, including an overview IOTN and its role in appropriate referrals for orthodontic treatment and guidance on what and when to refer
- Dental ethics. Explore and expand on the GDC Ethical Guidance using real world scenarios to show where dental team members have "come unstuck" by misunderstanding or misapplying the ethical standards that underpin our profession
- Complaints handling. To look at the importance of complaint handling and its relation to note keping
- Antiresorptive medications/MRONJ. To provide primary care dental practitioners with evidence-based guidance for preventing, identifying early and managing MRONJ in patients on antiresorptive or antiangiogenic therapies
- Extractions on patients with anticoagulants. To give primary care dental practitioners clear, evidence-based guidance for safely managing patients on anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy, reducing risks and ensuring optimal care.

Learning objectives
- Identify signs of burnout, apply emotional regulation and physical performance hacks and integrate leadership behaviours that enhance wellbeing and team performance
- Recognise orthodontic issues related to the development of teeth, occlusion, jaws, and facial structure and understand the relevance of the IOTN in referring patients for specialist orthodontic care
- Identify common ethical challenges in dentistry, explain the impact of breaching GDC standards and outline strategies to prevent ethical errors
- Develop the ability to handle complaints effectively by applying strong communication skills and maintaining accurate records to ensure quality service and accountability
