Learning objectives
- Recognise the early signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis
- Understand the importance of rapid assessment and escalation
- Demonstrate how to safely administer an auto-injector (e.g., EpiPen, Jext, Emerade) in line with current guidance
- Know what to do after administering an auto-injector, including monitoring and handover to emergency services
- Identify the signs of choking in adults, children, and babies
- Apply the correct sequence of actions for a choking adult
- Apply the correct sequence of actions for a choking baby, recognising the differences in technique and safety considerations
- Understand when and how to escalate if the obstruction does not clear
