IN-PERSON EVENT, hosted by Oxford Section

What to expect

Esther Shirin will speak candidly about her personal journey through profoundly traumatic life events, offering delegates both empathy and practical insight. Her session will guide people to reflect on their own experiences through a simple but powerful framework: health (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual), wealth, relationships and energy. Attendees can expect a grounded, compassionate exploration of how these four pillars shape our lives and how understanding them can support resilience during difficult times.

Jon Burgess will delve into the fascinating world of gut health, helping delegates understand the microbiome and the crucial role it plays in both mind and body. He will outline the common signs of poor gut health, the everyday factors that can negatively impact it and the practical steps we can take to improve it. Participants will leave with clear, actionable guidance on how to nurture their gut for better overall wellbeing.

Speakers

Esther Shirin

In 2016, Esther was riding high in her career as a GDP and private practice owner and was developing a referral practice for high-end removable prosthetics whilst being happily married with two daughters.

By 2026 she was a survivor of a nervous system breakdown, addiction and professional and personal loss.

After an eight-year case with the GDC, she has regained her dental licence and is aiming to go back into practice. She works within the medical and psychology schools at Leeds University which is at the forefront of providing students with direct access to those who have undergone similar issues and helps them to be better prepared to transition into working life, providing them with tools to help them withstand societal pressures.

Esther is about to publish her first book 'The Naked Soul of a Dentist... A bridge to awakening' and creating a company called 'Dr Esther' where she will offer online courses to health care professionals.

Esther wants to share her story, experiences and insights in the hope that it will help her fellow colleagues on their own life paths.
