IN-PERSON EVENT hosted by Plymouth Section

What to expect

Endodontics doesn’t always go to plan — but every challenge is an opportunity to learn, refine, and improve patient outcomes. This session focuses on recognising potential pitfalls in diagnosis, access, shaping, and obturation, and explores practical strategies to prevent and manage complications. We’ll also discuss when and how to refer, ensuring patients receive the best possible care.

Jonathan Hope

Jonathan Hope BDS BSc MSc

Jon qualified from Peninsula Dental School, Plymouth, in 2013 and has since remained in the South West, working as a general dentist. In 2018, he completed a Master’s degree in Endodontics, further developing his expertise in root canal treatments.

He divides his time between general practice and accepting referrals for endodontic cases, while also teaching endodontics at Peninsula Dental School. Jon regularly receives referrals for complex root canal treatments from across the South West and is a member of the British Endodontic Society.

Outside of dentistry, Jon is married to Lowri (also a dentist) and they have a four-year-old son. He enjoys renovating their home and taking long walks with their two schnauzers, Colin and Arthur.
