Meet the speaker

Abhishek Parolia is an internationally recognized academic endodontist, educator, researcher, and clinician who currently serves as Research Director, and Director of Predoctoral Endodontics in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, Iowa City, USA. A Gold Medalist in Endodontics, Prof Parolia brings over two decades of experience in micro-endodontics, dental education, clinical research, and mentoring future dental professionals.

Prior to joining the University of Iowa, he held several senior leadership positions at the International Medical University (IMU), Malaysia, including Associate Dean for Postgraduate, Continuing Education and Research, Head of Restorative Dentistry, Programme Director of Endodontics, and Head of the Oral Health Centre. He also earned his PhD from IMU and played a pivotal role in advancing academic programs, research initiatives, and clinical services.

Prof Parolia is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FDS RCPS Glasgow), the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FDS RCS Edinburgh), and the International College of Dentists (FICD), USA Section. He also serves as an Examiner for the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In recognition of his international contributions, he holds appointments as Honorary Clinical Professor at the University of Lancashire, United Kingdom; Adjunct Professor at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and Adjunct Professor at the International Medical University, Malaysia.

An accomplished scholar, Prof Parolia has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and nine textbook chapters and serves on the editorial boards of several international journals. His research interests include micro-endodontics, disinfection, regenerative endodontics, retreatment, vital pulp therapy, clinical audit, and governance. A sought-after international speaker, he has delivered lectures and conducted hands-on workshops in more than 25 countries, contributing significantly to the advancement of endodontics and evidence-based dental education worldwide.
