What to expect
The aim of this session is to increase awareness of alternative and complementary therapies that our patients are using and to understand why it is important for us to have an open mind for open conversations with our patients. You will also learn simple techniques that can be easily included into your daily practice for the benefit of you and your patients.
Speaker Samantha Jugdev will explore complementary remedies, integrative medicine, lifestyle and diet tips that can be given to patients. Samantha will also cover the basic principles of homeopathy and look at remedies that can easily be used in a dental practice and what evidence there is.
Samantha will also cover the basic principles of acupuncture and carry out a live demonstration if there is a willing volunteer. She will demonstrate some quick and easy to use acupressure points to help with gag reflex, anxiety, TMJDS and sinusitis.
And finally Samantha will cover the basic principles of hypnotherapy and how we can teach patients breathing techniques and some other tips that are easy to use in practice. She will share a few other tips and products that I find beneficial and cover some frequently asked questions from patients.
