Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Vyomesh Bhatt qualified as a dentist from the internationally renowned College of Dental Surgery in Manipal, India in 1992. He went on to teach oral and maxillofacial surgery as Assistant Professor at the College of Dental Surgery in Mangalore, India, before moving to the UK to pursue further training. He has presented at various national and international meetings and published widely in indexed journals. He is a very active Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life support and European Trauma Course Instructor. He also organises and teaches on maxillofacial courses in the UK and abroad.

Consultant Head and Neck Oral and Facial Surgeon

Malcolm is a consultant surgeon in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is doubly qualified in both Medicine and Dentistry and hold higher fellowships with The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

His NHS practice is based at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Trust, Addenbrooke's Hospital where he has been a consultant since 2006. Malcolm has special interests in Head and Neck Oncology and adult and paediatric facial trauma (injuries). Malcolm undertakes general Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Malcolm is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the British Association of Head and Neck Oncologists.

Malcolm is a trainer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has also run courses in Facial Trauma, Mouth Cancer and Local Anaesthesia for Dentistry.  He has lectured regionally, nationally and internationally.

Senior Dento-Legal Adviser at the DDU and Chair of Essex LDC

Bryan is a Senior Dento-Legal Adviser at the DDU. He has been qualified for 54 years. Before 1 January 2016 he was Deputy Head of the DDU and has been a dento-legal adviser for 25 years. Prior to this he was in general practice for 25 years, was a vocational trainer and an associate specialist in oral surgery. Currently he is chairman of Essex LDC, on the LDN and MCNs for Oral Surgery and Restorative. He keeps wet gloved working alternate Saturday mornings in practice. Bryan regularly lectures on dento-legal and ethical issues.

Safeguarding Trainer and Auditor

Stuart is a retired police officer with 30 years of experience, mostly spent as a detective, concluding as DCI in Suffolk’s 'Protective Services’. Stuart led investigations into a variety of serious and major crime as a nationally accredited Senior Investigating Officer, including specialist areas of Child Death, Disaster Victim Identification and Kidnap and Extortion. He represented the Constabulary on the Local Safeguarding Children Board and was also Vice-Chair of Suffolk’s Safeguarding Adults Board. He qualified as a Modern Languages teacher after retirement from the police and presently works as a supply teacher and feels privileged to share learning and experience with SAFEcic.
