This informative lecture will give dental professionals a clear, evidence-based pathway for managing periodontitis from diagnosis to reassessment, applying the 2017 classification and the EFP/BSP stepwise approach so that Steps 1 and 2 are delivered consistently, recorded properly and followed by sound decisions on supportive care, further treatment or referral.

You will explore: Biofilm-host interaction and risk factors (smoking, diabetes); 2017 classification: case definition, staging, grading, diagnostic statement; BPE, six-point charting, furcations, radiographs, records and consent; Step 1 self-care and interdental aids; Step 2 hand, sonic/ultrasonic and air-polishing technique, complications, adjuncts; reassessment, Step 3, endo-perio lesions, referral, and SDR claiming.
